After graduating from Anglican Church Grammar School Wil graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Business Majoring in Sports Management. He also has certificates in Pilates, Fitness and Personal Training.
Wil’s love for the Martial Arts started when he was born into a Martial Arts family and started his journey in Martial Arts in 1990. Wil’s family lived in their Dojo for 10+ years, just like he thought every other family did. All of Wil’s friends had backyards, swings and grass but Will had a Dojo. In 2006 Wil founded the Brisbane Martial Arts Academy’s GRAPPLE PIT, which was very successful in Gi and NoGi BJJ and Submission Grappling tournaments up to a national level. Following his passion for grappling Wil ventured to the birthplace of Gracie Jiu Jitsu to Rio De Janeiro in 2011 which is where he met Master Royler Gracie and was invited to teach and represent Gracie Humaita for Queensland as Gracie Humaita Brisbane.
Once a sponsored and active competitor from White belt to Purple Belt, Will enjoyed testing his timing and technique in local, state and national tournaments. However, now his focus is on his students the main focusing being developing their confidence and ability to defend themselves thereafter any tournament or competition.
Will also teaches and trains in Sakura Hana Ryu Ju Jitsu (Black Belt 1st Dan), Judo (Blue Belt) and is employed by Defensive Tactics as an instructor teaching Virgin Australia Airlines aircrew in their Security and Counterterrorism Training Programme.
